Welcome to the Highlights from ADA 2018

This year, the annual ADA meeting was held in warm and sunny Orlando, Florida from June 22th to June 26th, 2018.

The international 5-day conference was filled with innovative and exciting, Oral Presentations, Special Addresses, Award Lectures, Presidential Sessions, Poster Presentations, and Mini-Symposia that offered researchers and health care professionals the unique opportunity to share ideas and learn about the significant advances in diabetes research, treatment, education, and care from around the globe. There was even a World Cup Café so that our attendees could watch the much-anticipated international football games.

A sampling of some popular topics presented included areas such as the role of the Mediterranean Diet, Quality-of-Life, glycemia during pregnancy, management in HIV, injectables, comorbidities, cardiorenal protective effects, ADA/EASD Consensus findings, and much more.

Special attention was paid to results from the RISE, TEDDY and, VADT-F trials which created excitement and enthusiasm at the conference.

Leading international experts provided detailed insights to their presentations, their expertise, and how their knowledge could be used to enhance patient outcomes and promote better management in people with diabetes.

The ADA 78th Scientific Sessions continues to demonstrate professional excellence as can be seen through the many physicians and researchers participating, the attendance of numerous countries, and the variety of presentations and professional gatherings.

We are proud to continue our ongoing tradition of promoting the ADA Scientific Sessions Highlights by providing opportunities for collaboration in research, development, and education of all health professionals committed to the care of patients with diabetes around the world.

A selection of interviews and conference summaries, complete with key point slide kits, are available on this website and have been developed to provide important updates in diabetes.
